Public Evening Lecture by Lukáš Houdek (documentary filmmaker, journalist, and artist, Prague)
Lukáš Houdek has devoted himself to the topic of the postwar expulsion of Germans and the reconciliation process. Through his projects, he holds up a mirror to Czech society and seeks ways to achieve mutual reconciliation. In his lecture, he will present his individual projects along with examples of public responses and specific impacts on individual families.
Lukáš Houdek is a Czech documentary filmmaker, journalist, and artist. He studied Romani Studies at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University. He was the coordinator and one of the leading figures of the HateFree Culture campaign. In his work, he focuses on topics related to body image and intimacy, and has undertaken numerous artistic and journalistic projects addressing minorities, prejudices, and historical or personal traumas. Today, he is a reporter for Heroine magazine and also assists several cities in communicating issues related to the coexistence of different population groups.
