Neuhof Castle celebrates double anniversary: 200 years of castle history meets Mendelssohn's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" - An immersive feast for the senses on June 6, 2026.
Neuhof, MV - The "Kulturverein Initiative Schloss Neuhof und Single-Touren MV" invite you to a social event in a class of its own: On June 6, 2026, Schloss Neuhof will be transformed into a living stage from the early 19th century. Under the motto "A Midsummer Night's Dream Meets Bridgerton - Historic History Revived", the region is not only celebrating the 200th anniversary of the castle's completion as a neoclassical building (the house is of course older, but was rebuilt in the 19th century), but also the anniversary of Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's world-famous composition.
More than a ball: an immersive theater experience After the overwhelming success of the first event, the Kulturverein is setting new standards. The ball is not just a dance event, but a staged play in which the boundaries between performers and audience are blurred. Under the artistic direction of Cassandra Rühmling, Kellymarie Sullivan and Nile Pils, the entire castle grounds become a backdrop in which the guests themselves become actors in the story.
The evening will be accompanied by live music. A special highlight is the performance by talented young musicians Nora and Emma Fischer as well as other regional artists from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, who will bring Mendelssohn's masterpiece to life.
A program full of glamour and curiosities Guests can expect an exhilarating program that combines the charm of the Regency era with modern elements:
- Culinary: an original English Bridgerton-style buffet takes guests into the world of fine society.
- Interaction & fun: From classic dance classes on site to romantic carriage rides and modern photobooth stations for the perfect souvenir photo.
- Magic & senses: In the "Pleasureground", an oriental tent awaits with a fortune teller offering a glimpse into the future. A perfumer invites you to exclusive fragrance tastings.
- Encounter: Special "Singles Specials" with the SINGLE TOURS MV promote real encounters - away from the digital and towards real life in the early summer of Mecklenburg.
- Dancing into the night: while contemporary music invites you toparty indoors and outdoors in the dance areas, a spectacular midnight performance provides the grand finale.
A sign of real life "We want to show how exciting and lively our local history can be," says the cultural association Initiative Schloss Neuhof. "The ball is a festive start to the outdoor season and a place for real encounters. Above all, we want to encourage young audiences to not only read about history in books, but to live it in costume themselves."
