Stephanie and Ruedi Baumann's life's work - an organic farm that they have run with political zeal and dedication for over 20 years - is located in the middle of the idyllic French countryside. As they get older, the question arises as to who will take over the farm one day. Their son Simon, long established in his own life as a filmmaker, accompanies the family with his camera as they think about this future. His brother Kilian already runs his own business. Both are faced with the challenge of reconciling personal paths and the responsibility of inheritance.
With subtle humor and ruthless honesty, the handover of the farm becomes a reflection of central questions: What does responsibility mean? How much freedom does an inheritance allow? And how fair is inheritance in a time when property is unequally distributed?
