France, late 19th century. For 20 years, the extraordinary chef Eugénie (Juliette Binoche) has been working for the famous gourmet Dodin (Benoît Magimel). Together, they create the most delicious dishes, which amaze even the world’s most legendary chefs.
Over the years, their time together in the kitchen and their passion for cooking have blossomed into far more than just a love of food. But Eugénie doesn’t want to give up her freedom and has no intention of marrying Dodin. So he decides to do something he’s never done before: cook for her.
