"Because Wounds Become Birds—Ukrainian Literature in War" An Evening with Natalka Sniadanko

As part of Intercultural Week 2026, moderated by Wolfram Tschiche

Ukrainian writer, translator, and doctoral candidate at the Institute of Slavic Studies at the University of Leipzig, Natalka Sniadanko (Lviv/Leipzig), will speak about the role of literature in times of war.
Drawing on the anthology of the same name, she will read selected texts and offer insights into writing and life in Ukraine.

The subsequent discussion will include time for questions and conversation.

Organized by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in cooperation with the Koeppenhaus.
