On Friday, August 29, 7:30 p.m., we invite you once again to enjoy the music and verve of the Landesjugendjazzorchester M-V under the direction of Michael Leuschner. The evening's soloist is Frederik Köster, trumpet.
The Landesjugendjazzorchester M-V is a project of the Landesmusikrat M-V e. V. and provides the most talented young jazz musicians in our federal state with an excellent platform for making music together. Interested young musicians between the ages of 14 and 26 have the opportunity to learn how to play together in a jazz orchestra and the basics of improvisation under professional guidance, to develop their skills with others and to present themselves at a national level.
In a classical big band formation, a program based on a musical theme is developed each year in two work phases and regular section rehearsals. The accompaniment of internationally renowned soloists provides additional depth. The LaJazzO M-V has become a musical figurehead for our state and is a regular guest here in Kirch Stück.
Frederik Köster (born 1977) studied school music in Detmold and jazz trumpet and jazz composition/arrangement in Cologne. He has been a professor of jazz trumpet at the Institute of Music at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences since 2007.
The Cologne trumpeter has already played with many jazz greats such as Phil Woods, Albert Mangelsdorff, Ack van Rooyen, Biréli Lagrene, Nils Landgren, the WDR, HR and NDR Big Band, Peter Herbolzheimer's Rhythm Combination & Brass. He has received many national and international awards for jazz musicians and has released nine albums of his own.
