On July 9, 1822, Alexandrine arrives in Doberan as the newlywed wife of Hereditary Grand Duke Paul Friedrich. She is greeted with poems, songs and eulogies. The grand ducal officials presented her with a drinking bowl engraved with the words: "A friendly welcome to your future mother, the loyal subjects of the Doberan district". Ludwig Jacoby composed a hymn of praise in homage to the princess: "Welcome, daughter of the king, to the beach where love, so accustomed to love, receives you, welcome to the land where the loyal German people's loyalty is worthwhile!"
