A Fairytale-Like Children’s Mill Day at the Kröpeliner Mühle

it will be a fairytale-likeday in and around the “submersible” mill in Kröpelin!
The “Kröpeliner Mühle” e. V. Friends’ Association and the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Legends and Fairy Tales Route, together with the Kröpelin Fire Department, invite mill and fairy tale enthusiasts of all ages to a very special Children’s Mill Day.
What does grain actually look like? How is it turned into flour? And how does a mill work? Children will have the chance to explore these questions for themselves in a playful way. They can learn about grain and grind it themselves—and, of course, they’ll get to roast some bread on a stick over the fire afterward.
But that’s not all: a fairy-tale scavenger hunt through the Kröpelin Mill awaits the young visitors. While searching for mysterious clues, they’ll need to find and collect various stamps. Anyone who successfully completes all the stations will receive a very special “Assistant Miller” certificate at the end.
And who’s that rustling among the old beams? Why, it’s Mühli, the mill mouse, of course! Together with her siblings, she’s hiding somewhere in the mill. The children can go on a hunt for the little mice and then get to know them.
The world of fairy tales also takes center stage on this day. “The Mill in Fairy Tales” and the mills and fairy tales of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern take visitors on a journey into a world full of stories, legends, and mysterious mills.
Children’s Mill Day combines interesting facts about grains and mills with games, fun, physical activity, and, of course, a good dose of fairy-tale magic.
Admission is free!
Refreshments will be provided by the “Kröpeliner Mühle” e. V. support association.
Important note regarding travel: Unfortunately, it won’t be possible to park directly at the mill on this day. Visitors are asked to use the large Kröpeliner parking lot on Rostocker Straße.
So: Head to Kröpelin, step inside the mill, and enter a world full of fairy tales, mice, flour, and mill stories!
