Drawings by Kathrin Hanisch
About the artist
Kathrin Hanisch, born in Leipzig and raised in the rural area bordering Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, discovered her passion for drawing as a child.
Her particular interest in architecture shaped her eye for shapes and structures.
Five years ago, she moved to Röbel an der Müritz and fell deeply in love with the town and its surroundings. This region became her adopted home and the central motif of her work.
Her current exhibition, "A Homage to Röbel", is an expression of this deep connection.
Artistic statement
"I don't paint what I see, but what I feel in the Müritz region."
Kathrin translates the soul of the Müritz region into expressive, tangible art.
Her process is experimental: instead of seeking a realistic representation, she works with the entire color palette and materials to create intense texture.
She combines palette knife, acrylic, watercolor, pencil and ballpoint pen in a variety of mixed media.
In addition, she presents small digital works - often as precise miniatures.
Each work is an invitation to the viewer to experience Röbel and its surroundings anew through an emotional prism.
