The Kulturverein Feldberger Land e. V. is pleased to present Gunter Krieg's artemetry works in an unusual fall exhibition.
Gunter Krieg lives and works in Jena. Alongside and after a professional career as a civil engineer, he is artistically active in various fields. For many years he has been interested in combining aspects of graphics, color play, construction and geometry into an artistic coexistence. This has resulted in a personal way of working that Gunter Krieg himself calls artemetry. After initially designing his works with colored paper and ink, he now works digitally. The earlier works were also digitized, edited and varied.
In Gunter Krieg's artemetrie works, sober, technical geometric surfaces are transformed through the use of color and movement, resulting in a lively interplay. This creates tension and surprising effects, for example when differently colored triangles become a wide landscape with meadows, horizon and sky and convey an almost poetic impression.
In his works, Gunter Krieg combines reason and emotion, abstraction and representation, technology and art, and also gives us viewers a new perspective on nature, our everyday lives and our environment.
In 2013, Gunter Krieg received the Art Prize of the Rector of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena for his paintings "Einblick" and "Ausblick". The exhibition in Feldberg in the Haus des Gastes shows works from five decades and thus provides a lively overview of the artist's creative and developmental phases.
