The Short Film Competition in Stralsund
**Do you love movies and have always wanted to try your hand at directing? Then “48h Durchdrehen!” is just the thing for you!**
In this short film competition organized by Medienwerkstatt Identity Films e.V. in cooperation with MakerPort Stralsund, you’ll create your own short film—either on your own or as part of a team—within 48 hours, using a smartphone or camera and with absolutely no prior experience required.
The concept is simple: **48 – 5 – 3 – 1 – 0**
**48 hours** to shoot and produce the film
**5 minutes** maximum film length
**3 keywords** that must appear in the film
**1 take**—shoot it all in one go
**0 cuts**—your film is created entirely without editing
From **October 9–11, 2026**, there will also be hands-on workshops covering screenwriting & storytelling, cinematography, lighting, directing, and costume and prop design. No prior experience is required—and when it comes to equipment, your idea is what counts!
On **October 11 at 8 p.m.**, the three required keywords will be announced. Then the countdown begins: Your finished short film must be submitted by **October 13 at 8 p.m.**
Anyone can participate—alone, with friends, family, or as a team. A smartphone is all you need.
The grand **premiere and awards ceremony** will take place on **December 21, 2026, at MakerPort Stralsund**. At the public screening, the audience will decide the winning film.
