Closing concert of the Usedom Music Festival 2026
with Martin Fröst (clarinet) and Roland Pöntinen (piano)
Works by Ernest Chausson, Anders Hillborg, Camille Saint-Saëns, Olivier Messiaen, Francis Poulenc
Martin Fröst and Roland Pöntinen are among the most prominent artists on the Swedish classical music scene and perform all over the world. Fröst constantly experiments with bridging the gap between classical and folk music. Pöntinen searches for precious rarities in the repertoire, but does not disdain film music either.
Her Usedom concert looks to France: to the elegant art of the Belle Époque around 1900 and to the cheeky, melancholy world of Francis Poulenc between jazz, chanson and bizarre surrealism. A moving and surprising conclusion to our festival!
