From May 8 to 10, 2026, we invite you to our anniversary festival, the 25th North German Nature Photography Days in beautiful Waren an der Müritz. The friendly photo festival of the north offers many exciting lectures in the Bürgersaal, again ranging from regional to international. The Mecklenburg Lake District is the perfect starting point for our workshops and excursions.
We are unusually late for 2026, unfortunately we could not find another date as the Bürgersaal is fully booked in March. Let's look at the advantages - for example, the weather will be a bit friendlier and the Müritz will certainly not be frozen over. We've also had that in previous years.
The black woodpecker as the leitmotif of the Nature Photo Days was created by Oliver Richter.
He writes: Intact, natural forests with sufficient deadwood are ideal for the cycle of nature, not only for our native woodpeckers.
After many days of fruitless perching, this beautiful male black woodpecker flew to the deadwood trunk
flew to the deadwood trunk and began searching for food. The photo was taken shortly before the adult birds went to rest - much to the delight of the impatiently waiting hungry young birds.
At the photo market (admission free), all exhibitors will be available for advice and extensive product testing. From the latest cameras and lenses to bags, tripods, accessories of all kinds, travel, workshops, picture frames, publishers and literature, everything is on offer. The Check + Clean service will also be available again (Saturday + Sunday only). The service is free of charge.
Every holder of a 3-day ticket has the opportunity to take part in our photo competition and win attractive prizes. You can find more detailed information in the program booklet and on the homepage.
