Movies at the Theater
Based on the bestseller by Caroline Wahl
Tilda’s (Luna Wedler) days are strictly structured: she studies, works at the supermarket checkout to make ends meet, and on top of that, she also regularly takes care of her little sister Ida (Zoë Baier). On some days, she also has to take care of her alcoholic mother, who is raising her on her own.
But this summer brings the possibility of change: Tilda receives a promising job offer. She could move away and work on her dissertation in Berlin. To Tilda, it all sounds like a future full of freedom. But who will take care of her little sister and her mother then? On top of that, Viktor (Jannis Niewöhner) shows up—he, like her, always swims 22 laps in the pool. Just as Tilda really begins to believe that everything could get better, however, the situation at home spirals completely out of control.
