On October 10 and 11, 2026, the northern cloister of the medieval Rehna monastery complex will once again be transformed into a paradise for nature lovers and mushroom enthusiasts
After an eight-year hiatus, the time has finally come again: On October 10 and 11, 2026, the northern cloister of the medieval Rehna monastery complex will once again be transformed into a paradise for nature lovers, mushroom enthusiasts, and families. The “Mushroom Days” are making a comeback and invite you to an extraordinary weekend centered on the fascinating world of mushrooms.
With its historic ambiance, Rehna Monastery offers the perfect setting for one of northern Germany’s largest mushroom exhibitions. Hundreds of freshly collected mushroom species from the region’s forests will be on display in spacious exhibition areas—ranging from the most sought-after edible mushrooms to the rarest and most poisonous varieties. The event will feature engaging information booths, creative mushroom art, and hands-on activities for all ages. Visitors can look forward to taking a peek through a microscope themselves, and at the information booth on medicinal mushrooms, they can learn a lot about the health benefits of mushrooms. A special highlight is the guided mushroom walks. The tours take place on Sunday morning. Registration is available on Saturday at Rehna Monastery. The mushroom exhibition is open on both days from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is €4 per person; admission is free for children 13 and under. Refreshments will also be available. The event is jointly organized by the “Heinrich Sternberg” Rehna Mushroom Association (e. V.) and the Steinpilz Wismar “Reinhold Krakow” Mushroom Association (e. V.) in cooperation with the monastery town of Rehna.
