LAST PICTURES End-with-fun cartoons from June 19 - September 27, 2026
The infinity of the universe lies in the finiteness of things. Something starts somewhere, somehow, and ends at some point. For example, the Middle Ages, the storm in a teacup, puberty, the Cartoonair by the sea...
After 18 summers, Cartoonfabrik Berlin is saying goodbye to Prerow.
It deals with global questions such as: Are democracies on their last legs? Are armament and preparations for war the last means of maintaining peace? Will AI replace even the very last job? Can only the end of the combustion engine save the car industry? And, of course, everyday life. With the last cigarette, the last stroke under the messed-up relationship, the last cry in today's fashion, which could be the last cough tomorrow, about Happy and other movie endings, about the last dirt that you can buy - as long as it's cheap - at TEM. The main thing is to order it cheaply from TEMU, the end of the line when it comes to increasing health insurance contributions, the last round in the pub, the last straw that breaks the camel's back, the last person to turn out the lights, the many farewells, endings and deadlines in the course of life. And last but not least, death...
All this in these strange times, whose last days could soon be numbered. Because it won't go on like this. But how it will go on is difficult to predict.
More than 70 of Germany's best cartoonists have dug out the last of their cartoons from their drawers and pulled them out for a furious finale to Germany's unique open-air cartoon festival in Prerow.
Come to the exhibition before it's too late.
Because one thing is certain. The end is getting closer and closer.
At least that of the Cartoonair am Meer.
Opening hours Mon-Sun 10.30 - 18.30
