Night of Knowledge in the State Library with a kick-off event and many other activities - in cooperation with the State Center for Political Education
At this year's Night of Knowledge, the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Günther Uecker State Library and the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Center for Political Education are opening the doors to the reading room on the subject of knowledge and democracy.
The highlight of this evening is the opening event at 4 p.m. in the foyer of the State Library: Prof. Dr. Jochen Müller from the University of Greifswald will speak on the topic "1 year before the state elections - patterns, trends and forecasts". The lecture will provide an outlook on the coming election year, taking into account election research and political sociology. Afterwards, a small drink will offer the opportunity for discussion and conversation.
After the opening, there will be an opportunity to get to know the library's 'third location' better:
- In the upper reading room, the State Center for Political Education presents publications and projects from previous years and is available to answer questions about "knowledge and democracy".
- In the training room, the library invites you to take part in the Scandinavian library trend: puzzles - alone, together, with familiar and unfamiliar faces. Represented in every large and small library in Scandinavia, searching for and finding the puzzle piece has become a meeting point for customers.
- At 19:00, the State Library will be offering an introduction to its services in the foyer. In this way, visitors can learn more about access to information in a knowledge society.
- To conclude the Night of Knowledge, we will be presenting outstanding pieces from the democratic and scientific discourse of the past five centuries in a book presentation at 8 pm. Together with the State Center for Political Education, the State Library will open its treasure trove and present selected treasures.
- The reading rooms are open throughout the Night of Knowledge: browse through books from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern or new publications from the State Center for Political Education and browse through newspapers and magazines.
The Night of Knowledge ends in the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Library at around 21:00.
