The five virtuosos of Foaie Verde ("green leaf") offer a musical firework display of emotional music from the Balkans. They come from four different European countries and blend Hungarian and Romanian folk music, fast-paced Balkan sounds as well as Serbian, Bulgarian, Macedonian, Albanian and Turkish music into an irresistible listening experience. The ensemble, led by violin virtuoso Sebastian Mare and charismatic singer Katalin Horvath, captures the pure joie de vivre of the fiery music of the countries of south-eastern Europe in their very own, incredibly multi-faceted arrangements and offers a musical experience that is unparalleled in Germany.
With Jordan Djevic on accordion, Frank Wekenmann on guitar and Veit Hübner on double bass, the band is international and top-class. Together, Foaie Verde explore all facets of musical expression and send the audience into an ecstatic frenzy of tones and sounds with their impressive stage presence.
