The interactive exhibition "Health XP" uses a playful approach to explain how modern medicine has evolved, what it is already capable of today, and what possibilities it opens up for the future. From July 22 to 25, 2026, it will be on display at the market square in Neubrandenburg.
Health XP brings to life how modern medicine is developed and what it can already do for your life today. Across four themed areas, the exhibition showcases current research approaches in personalized medicine, prevention, women’s health, and cancer—topics that affect us all, regardless of age, background, or gender.
The games are a special highlight: Using your own avatar, you’ll dive into the world of health, make decisions, and earn points. This playful approach lets you discover how behavior, research, and medical advances can impact your health.
In addition, on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., cancer researchers Dr. med. Anika Kästner and Dr. rer. med. Kerstin Weitmann will be available for discussions as part of the “Meet the Scientist” event. Visitors will have the opportunity to ask the scientists directly about cancer research, treatment approaches, and everyday life in science. Registration is not required.
Admission is free. Health XP is aimed at teens ages 14 and up and adults, and the venue is wheelchair accessible. Registration is not required for individual visitors. School classes and larger groups are asked to register in advance using the following form: www.wissenschaftsjahr.de/2026/mitmachen/health-xp/gruppenanmeldung.
Health XP is part of the Year of Science 2026 – Medicine of the Future, an initiative of the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space.
