The Queer Center is a place for the LGBTQIA+ community that offers opportunities to network and meet new people with a diverse program and regular events. The center also promotes exchange and education for all interested people.

The Queer Center is a place where people from the LGBTQIA+ community can meet or feel close to each other. With a diverse program, this place offers opportunities to network, meet new people and enjoy a good time together in a safe space. With regularly recurring event formats such as the U27 MeetUp, the Women* Café, the Queer Regulars' Table, the Book Club and open evenings, we keep our month varied. Special highlights in the program are concerts, creative evenings and film screenings. The Queer Library, which has almost 2,000 books ranging from specialist literature to fiction, offers a wide range of literary books to read on site or borrow. Everyone is welcome! Whether queer or straight, the Wiekhaus opens its doors to anyone interested in finding out more, educating themselves or networking.

In 1890 the house was built as a hunting lodge of the Grand Duke of Strelitz in the neo-Renaissance style. The old manor house next to it is a simple 11-axis building over two floors.
