The village church holds many treasures - including the last pneumatic organ built by master organ builder Marcus Runge and a wall painting in the "Art Deco" style - to name just two.

The Buchholz village church is located in beautiful Mecklenburg, 10 km south of Rostock. It is the hub of parish life. Of course, it also enriches non-church community life, as it stands in the middle of the village and is illuminated for several hours every day in the dark during Advent. The church clock regularly announces what time it is. In addition to church services, the Buchholz village church offers space for concerts, exhibitions, church tours and book readings.
