Holiday home

The Ulenhuus vacation home is located in the middle of the idyllic Mecklenburg Switzerland region, not far from the cities of Rostock and Güstrow. It is located in the small cul-de-sac village of Zehlendorf - a place where you can recharge your batteries in seclusion and close to nature.

The Ulenhuus has been open to guests since 2025 after being lovingly renovated, mainly by the owners themselves. It is owner-managed and offers 240 square meters of accommodation with a garden, a terrace and a fully equipped communal kitchen as well as a lounge area with a large basic stove for cosiness in the colder seasons. Floor-to-ceiling windows ensure a good connection between inside and outside in summer as well as a beautiful view of the adjacent meadows, forests and paddocks. The house has three double rooms and one family room as well as four (external) bathrooms. The Ulenhuus is located on a 3,000 square meter natural plot and has a large south-facing terrace, seating islands in the garden and a north-facing garden, which is particularly suitable as an outdoor area in hot weather. Storage facilities for bicycles are also available. The accommodation is ideal for those passing through for a stopover. The Ulenhuus is only about 15 minutes away from the Scandinavian ferries via Gedser (DK) or Trelleborg (Swe). It is also suitable for cycling tourists or hikers, but also for workation stays or co-working retreats in an inspiring work location. There is fast fiber optic internet and stable 5G reception so that mobile devices can also be used without any problems. The house is suitable for family reunions/trips when booked in its entirety.

    Parish Church of St. Mary

    • Open today
    • Markt, 18273 Güstrow

The Güstrow parish church stands on the market square in the immediate vicinity of the town hall. The first documented mention of the parish church dates back to 1308. After the fire in the center of Güstrow in 1503, which also destroyed the church, it was rebuilt and consecrated in 1508. When you enter the parish church, the first thing you see is the completely restored Jan Borman altar from 1522. This work of art, the ornate pulpit, the impressive organ and a small Barlach angel are already reasons enough to take a look around. But there is one very special highlight that you should not miss: 196 steps lead up to the 41 meter high observation deck of the highest building in Güstrow. A magnificent view over the city and Heidberge, the lakes and the meadows leaves many tourists amazed.
