The Radler Cafe, located in the old warehouse of the green village oasis of Hohenbüssow in the Tollense Valley, lies along the EISZEITROUTE between Demmin and Klempenow and invites cyclists and hikers to take a break and linger. Guests can also expect a sociocultural center that hosts its own events in this community of just 70 residents.
The former granary offers musicians and writers from all over Germany a place for self-expression. In addition to workshops, concerts and symposia are held there. The association also offers projects such as tolerance training and drumming programs at schools, among other initiatives. The association is also committed to agriculture free of factory farming and the use of pesticides, waste reduction, the careful use of energy, and—last but not least—reducing traffic emissions by expanding bike paths and public transportation.
Our Village... A Stroll...
Hello. We invite you to take a tour through our village, situated on the southern hillside overlooking the Tollense River as it winds through the valley—a river that flows from Neubrandenburg through Altentreptow to Demmin, where it empties into the Peene. From the valley, a cobblestone-paved chestnut-lined avenue leads directly up the slope of the Tollense Valley to the hamlet of Alt Tellin, home to 70 residents. As you approach the village, the greenery of the trees grows denser and the blossoms more colorful.
The cobblestone road continues past the village church, which is surrounded on the left by a long fieldstone wall lined with old gravestones. We now follow this church wall along the well-worn country path to the left. After another 30 meters, the large former granary comes into view. The forecourt is paved with cobblestones. A large terrace with chairs and tables bathed in sunlight and a wooden sign reading “proVie Theater” welcome walkers and cyclists . . .
