The Literaturhaus is the former home of the writer Ehm Welk.

The writer Ehm Welk lived in this house from 1950 until his death in 1966. A number of important works such as "Mutafo" or "Im Morgennebel" were written here. The house has been open to the public since 1979. Several small exhibition areas are dedicated to the life and work of the author.

The cultural life of the city of Bad Doberan and the region is enriched by a variety of events, from author readings, musical-literary programs and cabaret evenings to concerts and exhibitions.
