A walk along the Sundpromenade takes you from the old town to Stralsund's lido in just 10 minutes. Here, kids and kids-at-heart enjoy pure beach life and a fascinating view over the Baltic Sea and to the Island of Rügen.

Already in the last century the people of Stralsund had a big dream: the city should become a renowned Baltic resort. In 1922, the first lido was built. Over time, the area underwent many transformations, from the filling of a fine sandy beach to the fortification with sheet pile walls. After the extensive remodeling in 2010/11, the people of Stralsund and visitors now have 20,000 m² of the finest sandy beach at their disposal. While the little ones build sand castles, dig in the sand or conquer the adventure playground, everyone else can soak up the sun in the beach chairs or relax on the numerous benches - an oasis for adventure and relaxation!
