A colorful spectacle unfolds in the Butterfly Park's spacious free-flight hall from April 1 to October 31: Hundreds of tropical butterflies float through a lushly planted tropical landscape. The animals come from various regions of South America, Asia and occasionally also Africa.
With a bit of luck, you may even spot the world's largest moth - an impressive but nocturnal inhabitant with a short lifespan that does not appear every day.
The entire metamorphosis - from egg to caterpillar and pupa to butterfly - can be traced in the park. However, due to the dynamics of the life cycle, not all development phases can be observed simultaneously at all times.
The tropically planted hall offers a nature experience regardless of the weather. Temperatures and humidity correspond to a warm and humid rainforest climate - light clothing is recommended. The butterflies are particularly active when the sun is shining, while on rainy days they tend to remain calm, providing ideal conditions for photography. Day tickets allow for flexible visits with individual breaks.
Café and store - relax, enjoy, browse
The adjoining café offers a selection of coffee, cakes, ice cream variations and hot meals. In good weather, the sun terrace offers a pleasant retreat.
The souvenir store offers a wide range of products - from butterfly and dinosaur-related items to amber, beach treasures and fossils, inspired by the proximity to the Baltic Sea coast.
Groups can book combined offers with guided tours, lectures and coffee breaks. Children's birthday parties and school class programs are also an integral part of the offer. Early booking, at least two weeks in advance, is recommended.
