Accessible beach access and Wattmobil on the beach of Zierow ensure a relaxing day at the beach in all situations.
In high season, the managed part of Zierow beach is wheelchair accessible. A wooden walkway serves as access to the beach, the beach shower and also to two beach chairs. A non-slip surface replaces the wooden walkway up to the edge of the surf, so that elderly people and guests with strollers can easily reach the water. An accessible restroom is also available nearby at the beach entrance area.
A tidal flat mobile can also be borrowed free of charge from the DLRG for guests with a handicap. Please note that it can only be borrowed when the DLRG watchtower or the beach chair reservation is occupied.
The beach wheelchair is seawater resistant and an attendant is required for its use.
The wheelchair can be rented only to guests with mobility impairments, only by the hour and only upon presentation of an identification document and mention of a cell phone number. The beach wheelchair may only be used at the beach area of Zierow. The use outside the beach area is not allowed. The Wattmobil is only suitable for the transport of one person with a maximum weight of 80 kilos for transport in impassable load-bearing, level terrain.
