MidsummerRemise: welcome the summer in style

from June 20 to 21, 2026

In honour of the summer solstice, the manor houses and manor houses in MV attracted visitors with a varied cultural program.

When sleepers tell stories

Every year at the summer solstice, the same thing happens - and it never gets boring: manor houses, castles and manor houses throughout Mecklenburg-Vorpommern open their doors. For two days, you can discover 400 years of manor house history and at the same time see what has become of it - modern concepts, new ideas, lively places.

  • Weekend ticket in advance booking: 25 € | day ticket: 14 €

Almost 80 häusers. One weekend. Countless stories

From guided tours and exhibitions to culinary delights, culture and insights into ongoing construction projects - each house has its own program. Some start earlier: Hohen Brünzow Castle, Klempenow Castle and Kölzow Castle are already inviting visitors on Friday evening, with live music, among other things.

12 Häusers taking part for the first time

In Northwest Mecklenburg, Triwalk Manor House, Petersdorf Manor House, Badow Castle and Groß Schwansee Manor are opening their doors for the first time. In the Rostock district, Gutshaus Groß Upahl and Gutshof Detershagen are new additions. The Lake District has seven new additions: Schloss Neustrelitz, Gutshaus Boek, Gutshaus Marxhagen, Burg Klempenow, Jagdschloss Waldsee, Hotel Hullerbusch and the Alte Direktion in Malchin.

How to get there? Regulated

Bus shuttles from Rostock, Wismar, Schwerin, Greifswald and the Lake District will take you directly to the hotels - just like in 2026. Two guided bike tours in Mecklenburg Switzerland will take you on an active cultural route through the most beautiful nature.In the Feldberg Lake District, you can also look forward to a guided bike tour and a family adventure hike as well as a bus trip with an expert guide from the manor house. 

MV and four other countries – together around the Baltic Sea

In 2026, the MidsummerRemise is dedicated to the European Cultural Route of Manors in the Baltic Sea Region. The cultural heritage festival of the Baltic Manors takes place internationally in five countries around the Baltic Sea - MV is part of it.

    MidsummerRemise in Broock Castle

    Broock Castle, essentially a late Baroque manor house, was built in 1770-77 by Major General Chr. B. von Linden. In 1840, landowner Hans Freiherr von Seckendorff commissioned the Prussian master builder F. A. Stüler to rebuild the castle. At the same time, garden artist P. J. Lenné provided the design for the transformation of the baroque garden into an English landscape park. The estate complex, which once covered 2,800 hectares, was home to the largest private stud farm in Vorpommern and was the social center of the region with its par force hunts, balls and dinners. The castle, park and estate complex were classified as a monument of special national importance.

    Klempenow Castle is a medieval castle complex in the Lake District, located directly on the Tollense, built by the Pomeranian dukes and owned by the noble von Heydebreck family since the middle of the 14th century. An association is now responsible for its restoration. Klempenow Castle is now a place for culture and encounters. There are guided tours, exhibitions and the café; KELKER and the canoe rental station are open.

    Between 1913 and 1915, Grand Duke Adolf Friedrich VI had a new palace built, a restrained, elegant country house in the neoclassical style designed by Ministerial Councillor Paul Schondorf. The clearly structured building with its side and central risalits was set in an east-facing English-style park, whose old trees lent the ensemble a special atmosphere. Stable and residential buildings for the servants were built nearby, also designed in the style of the palace. After the Grand Duke's death in 1918, the house passed to his mother, Grand Duchess Elisabeth, and since then has retained the quiet character of a residence that only served its original purpose for a few years. In 2025, the Grand Ducal Palace was reopened as a palace hotel with its own gourmet kitchen.

    MidsummerRemise in Hohen Brünzow Castle

    Hohen Brünzow Castle was built in the late 19th century as a two-storey manor house. In its picturesque park, the late classicist manor house, which was richly decorated at the time, must have been a real splendor in its red and gold colors. After the Second World War, the estate with its five large barns and many outbuildings became a seed farm with livestock farming. Until the 1990s, it was one of the few fully preserved estates in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Since 2019, a new Kultur-Gut-Hohen-Brünzow has been under construction here, offering a wide range of crafts, art and lifestyle.

    Gutshaus Bellow is a carefully renovated, very old manor house in half-timbered style with a nostalgic flair. We are taking part again! On Saturday, June 20 and Sunday, June 21, you can stroll through our estate park and enjoy the surrounding nature from 11 a.m. onwards. At 2 p.m. on both days, the owner Dr. Wolfram Klemm will guide you through the historic walls. In addition, the new owners of the Espresso Bar in the Alte Stellmacherei, Laura La Risa and Jörn Thiede, plan to open the bar for the Midsummer Reception on both days from 11 am to 3 pm.

    Kavaliershaus Blücher Castle on Lake Fincken The Kavaliershaus was built in 1748 as part of the manor house ensemble. The building was used as a school for over 60 years. After a long period of vacancy, it was lovingly restored and has been run as a hotel and restaurant by the Nalbach family of architects since 2010.

    MidsummerRemise at Gültz Castle

    The late classicist manor house was built in 1868-1872 for Helmuth Freiherr von Maltzahn according to plans by the Mecklenburg master builder Georg Daniel. Gültz had been owned by the Pomeranian line of the von Maltzahns since the 15th century. The castle is surrounded by an extensive landscaped park designed by Peter Joseph Lenné in 1840 with mature trees, ponds and an oval of twelve winter lime trees.
