Day 1: Through the Pine Forests A four- to five-day ride through the Griese region: Here, the open space begins the moment you step out of the stable. Depending on the route, the ride covers about 100 to 130 kilometers. Long sandy trails lead through the vast pine forests, alongside streams, watering holes, and ditches. Long stretches suitable for trotting—and even galloping—run along the state border. At the edge of the forest, you can spot cranes and storks. The stage ends in Grittel.
Day 2: Along the Elde After a night in Grittel, the route continues toward Stuck. From there, firm sandy trails lead to Neu Göhren and Malk Göhren, and the Elde River accompanies the route for kilometers. In the village of Glaisin, the region’s characteristic turf-and-stone houses, with their black-and-white Dalmatian-like appearance, catch the eye. A museum commemorates the writer Johannes Gillhoff.
Day 3: Two Routes to Redefin From here, you can choose between two routes, depending on your preference and fitness level. The route via Leussow leads through a terminal moraine landscape to Redefin. The alternative route goes via Menkendorf and Niendorf on the Rögnitz River to Laupin. Both routes end at the Redefin State Stud.
Day 4: Redefin State Stud At the Redefin State Stud, you’ll find the historic facility with its magnificent hall portal, in front of which an international tournament is held annually. The stage continues via Belsch and Lübbendorf to the Melkof Riding Center, where you can also spend the night.
Day 5: Country Roads to Vielank The route takes you along numerous country roads, past herds of cows with their calves and storks foraging for food in the fields. Shorter and longer stretches of forest line the route through Jessenitz and Briest to Vielank. You can stop for a break at the Vielank Brewery. The return route leads through the Elbe Nature Park to Woosmerhof. A group barbecue brings the tour to a close.
