Want to just set off in your camper van and see where the wind takes you? In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, there are numerous campsites right next to kite spots that are ideal for camper van drivers. Here are our six top spots in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern that every kite surfer should know!

Surfspot Pepelow at the Salzhaff

With southwesterly to northerly winds, a perfect spot for beginners and advanced kiters is located on the Salzhaff. In Pepelow, the vacation village 'San Pepelone' is located directly behind the entrance to kiting.

In a Mediterranean atmosphere you can enjoy your free time among like-minded people.Just switch off, enjoy the nature and kite in the perfect flat water area for all it's worth!

Kitesurfing Spot Room

Especially with west wind Saal is a hotspot for all kiters. Due to the shallow water from the Bodden, you will find the perfect conditions for freestyle kiting here.

A large meadow in front of the entrance is open for a small fee per vehicle and per person, even overnight. So sunset kiting and community feeling are the order of the day here in summer.

Rainbow camping in Born

on Fischland-Darss-Zingst

Continue along the east coast to the Darß at the Regenbogen campsite in Born. Whether it's kitesurfing, windsurfing, stand-up paddling or canoeing, Born has everything your water sports heart desires.

With a kite school on site, the campsite offers direct access to the Bodden. With south to westerly winds, you can go straight from your bed to the board.

Ostseecamping Regenbogen Suhrendorf

Suhrendorf on the Ummanz peninsula is a paradise in westerly winds.The spot, directly opposite the island of Hiddensee, offers pure flat water and is a popular summer destination for windsurfers and kitesurfers.

The Osteecamp Suhrendorf is located directly at the spot and offers everything from simple pitches to vacation homes and caravan rentals. For refreshment after a long day of kitesurfing, a pizza in the tiki bar not far from the campsite is highly recommended!

A very special event takes place every year over Whitsun on the small natural peninsula, the UMMAI Festival. There are great offers and workshops for young and old. In the evening, live music creates a great atmosphere.

Surf & Kitecamp in Wiek

With south-westerly to north-westerly winds, Wiek on the northern tip of the island of Rügen is a place-to-be for kitesurfers and windsurfers. From beginner to expert, every water sports enthusiast will be happy in Wiek.

There is also a campsite right behind the set-up area - the Surf & Camp Kite Camp.

Campsite Loissin

Loissin between Rügen and Usedom is a good spot for kitesurfing and windsurfing in easterly, northerly and westerly winds. The campsite Freizeitpark Loissin is located directly behind the kitespot and is a relaxed  place to stay for all water rats.

    Born is a classic Bodden spot with few waves and a lot of standing area. Best freeride action is provided by the southwest - then you can surf along the reed-covered Bodden coast without stress. But also with all other wind directions from southeast to west there is a lot going on here. But please respect the boundaries of the national park.

    Hang loose awaits you in Suhrendorf. With a kite and windsurf school, stores and camping site, everything is there. There's even a casual surf hostel right behind the beach. And the beach bar with a view of the sunset over the island of Hiddensee puts the icing on the cake. With southwest to north winds, you get your money's worth here.

    The wind mecca of Germany is located high in the north of the Island of Rügen and spoils with an incredible standing area that reaches out 450 meters. The spot is recommended for southwest to north winds. You can take courses and rent equipment at the wind and kitesurfing schools. Because of the sheltered location on the Wieker Bodden, the water is as smooth as iron.

    Loissin surf spot

    You can reach the spot via the campsite, where you can also take a shower and, of course, pitch your tent. Beginners will find a large standing area in Loissin. Experienced surfers will be happy about the fantastic shallow water conditions. The spot works with wind from west to northeast.

    The spot at the Salzhaff offers shallow water deluxe! You can park in front of or on the campsite. Day tickets are available at the reception. The Salzhaff is very shallow and the standing area is therefore extremely large. Especially windsurfers have to walk further out at low tide so that the fin doesn't involuntarily become an anchor. Pepelow shows its best side with southwest to north.
