1st dog beach Binz

Nordstrand (accesses 50 & 51)

Here, to the north of the Binz promenade and right next to the IFA vacation park, there is a wide, fine sandy stretch especially for your four-legged friends. Between beach access points 50 and 51, dogs can run around off the lead all year round - ideal conditions for digging, fetching and splashing around in the gently sloping Baltic Sea.

Infrastructure & comfort

  • Beach bar for leisurely breaks, snack bar with fish sandwiches and ice cream as well as public toilets are just a few steps behind the dunes.
  • The parking lot „Strand Nord“ is about 200 m away; so you can quickly reach the water with your dog towel and toys. 

Leash & season rules

From May 1 to September 30, dogs are generally not allowed on the main beach in the Ostseebad Binz; exceptions are the designated dog beaches such as the north beach, where your furry friends are still allowed to run free. Between October 1 and April 30, the entire coastal strip is then open to dogs on a leash.

Tip:
The neighboring nudist section borders directly on the dog beach – so pay attention to the signs and keep a respectful distance. For even more exercise, you can reach the Prora dog beach further north on foot in just a few minutes.

The Prerow dog beach stretches for almost five kilometers along the northern beach between the Fuchsberg (22) and Hohe Düne (23) access roads and from Bernsteinweg westwards to Ahoi Camp Darß. With a width of up to 80 meters, you'll find plenty of space for throwing games, a quick dip in the clear water or a leisurely nap in the sand, even in the high season. Fine, gleaming white sand, shallow Baltic Sea water and the scent of the forest give this section a wonderfully relaxed vacation atmosphere.

3. dog beach Ahrenshoop

The Ahrenshoop dog beach at Strandübergang 3 forms the northern prelude to the local beach. Around 80 meters wide, with loose, powdery sand and a gently sloping shore, it offers you plenty of space for digging and splashing around against the backdrop of the legendary Dar cliffs. The Lubmin dog beach is located on the western edge of the 5 km long, fine sandy coastal section of the seaside resort in Greifswald Bodden. Here you will find a wide strip of sand that slopes gently into the water with sandbanks in front of it, where your four-legged friends can splash around safely. Pine trees line the dunes and give the beach a pleasantly tranquil bodden atmosphere.

The Kühlungsborn dog beach is located in the heart of the Baltic seaside resort. With its fine sand and shallow entry into the water, this section is ideal for relaxing hours with your four-legged friend. 7. dog beach Warnemünde

Beach fun with clear rules

The Warnemünde dog beach is located between beach accesses 8 and 10, not far from the town center. The fine sandy section with shallow water is ideal for cooling off with your four-legged friend. In the high season, this area is accessible to dogs every day from 9 pm to 9 am.

For more free running, we recommend the Diedrichshagen dog beach between beach accesses 27–31 and 36–38. Dogs are allowed to run around off the lead here all year round, provided they can be called off easily.

9th dog beach Rerik

Natural beach with cliffs

The Rerik dog beach is idyllically located between the cliffs and the coastal forest to the east of the Baltic seaside resort of Rerik on beach access routes 1 - 2 (Wustrower Hals) and 9 - 10 (Liebesschlucht). The section at the Devil's Gorge is particularly popular: a natural beach with fine sand and scattered stones, which can be reached via a steep staircase. The surroundings offer a calm, maritime atmosphere - ideal for relaxing hours with your four-legged friend.

10th dog beach Nienhagen

Between cliffs and ghostly forest

The Nienhagen dog beach is located around 700 meters west of the promenade and can be reached via an idyllic path through the ghost forest. The combination of steep cliffs, mixed forest and the Baltic Sea gives this section a special atmosphere. The beach is natural and rather stony - ideal for quiet walks with your four-legged friend, less suitable for exuberant romping around.
