Why do young people join radical ideologies or groups? What role do personal, social, and political factors play in this process? In the film series “Young and Radical,” we want to explore these questions and take a close look at how radicalization actually unfolds.
How do radical views develop? Why do young people join radical ideologies or groups? What personal, social, and political factors can contribute to radicalization—and what can be done to counteract them?
The film series “Young and Radical,” organized by the Federal Agency for Civic Education (bpb) at the Movie Star Neustrelitz in October and November 2026, explores these questions. The series explores different forms and perspectives of radicalization and combines film screenings with follow-up discussions.
