How do good ideas become a reality on the ground? There are plenty of good ideas—but when it comes to putting them into practice, there’s sometimes a lack of the right connections, clear responsibilities, or appropriate support.
You’ve probably experienced this in your own work: You have an idea. People want to make a difference that benefits many. But sometimes the path to implementation turns out to be longer and more complicated than expected. A key contact is missing. Funding isn’t available. Responsibilities aren’t clear. Or the right people aren’t sitting around the table at the right time. What can we do to make it easier for good ideas to become a reality at the local level?
We’re examining the challenges—as well as successful approaches—in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district and improving the conditions for good ideas to thrive. That’s also what our first
workshop on social innovation in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district
When: Tuesday, October 27, 2026, 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Where: DeveLUP Future Center, Garnisonsstraße 7, 19288 Ludwigslust
Registration: by October 22
The goal of the workshop is to work together to develop approaches that are as concrete as possible and can be directly tested in the ongoing SINA process.
We’ll look at an example from our region
Our starting point is the Goldberg-Mildenitz Future Process. There, citizens, municipalities, and the administration have tested new ways of collaborating and, over the course of five years, jointly implemented 65 projects—all of which originated from ideas submitted by local residents.
We can learn a great deal from the experiences of this process to help develop a strategy for social innovation in the district and create better conditions for good ideas to flourish. In this workshop, we’ll take a closer look: What motivated people there to take action? And which of those approaches could work elsewhere as well?
At discussion tables, the experiences from Goldberg-Mildenitz will be combined with your own experiences from clubs, initiatives, and projects in the district.
- 1. Communication: What is needed for effective collaboration in terms of communication, participation, and the attitudes of those involved? What structures are needed to ensure that knowledge, ideas, and projects spread throughout the district?
- 2. Topics: How does an idea become a shared project? How can topics be selected and developed collaboratively? Is a shared vision or set of criteria needed?
- 3. Practice: How does an idea get put into action? What support, decisions, and approaches are needed to make this happen?
Join us and help shape what happens next.
