Cycling with the ADFC to climb the wind turbine.
We meet at the market square in Schwerin. There we offer to load the bikes into a van and onto a trailer. There will be an additional charge of €7.50 for transporting the bikes to Bützow and back. The journey to Bützow by train must be organized by yourself. It is possible to take bicycles on local trains, but this is not guaranteed if the number of passengers is high. Our actual cycle tour starts in Bützow at 11:45 am. We first take D-Route 11 along the Bützow-Güstrow Canal. At Klein Schwiesow, we turn north and cycle to the Groß Schwiesow wind farm. The highlight of the tour awaits us there in the truest sense of the word. We climb a wind turbine. A minimum age of 18 years, long pants, outerwear with long sleeves, gloves, helmet (e.g. bicycle helmet), fitness and a head for heights are required. The minimum age can be lowered if a parent or guardian is present. During the break at the wind farm, we learn interesting facts about renewable energies. We then cycle past Mistorf railroad station through Neu Kassow and Kassow into the Warnow valley. Passing Kambs, Friedrichshof and Passin, we make our way to Bützow to board the train to Schwerin. Food and drinks should always be in your luggage. The group size is limited to 20 people. Registration is therefore necessary.
