As a preview of the successful Windros Festival, the Hagenow Museum is once again hosting an exclusive double concert this year.

This year, the Danish folk band Phønix will perform alongside the duo Di Yiddishe Neshome, featuring Alan Bern and Mark Kovnatskiy.

Phønix, one of Denmark’s most popular folk bands, is coming to Hagenow. With their unique blend of traditional songs and original compositions, they have not only won numerous awards at home but have also enjoyed success around the world, from the U.S. to China. Since the 1990s, the quartet has been breathing new life into the Danish music scene, using clarinet, accordion, and percussion to create a captivating soundscape of danceable, groovy rhythms, over which the expressive voice of singer Karen Mose soars.

In their program *Di Yidishe Neshome*, Alan Bern & Mark Kovnatskiy invite the audience on a moving journey through the soul of Yiddish music. Alan Bern has been a leading figure in the international klezmer revival for 40 years. As the founder and artistic director of Yiddish Summer Weimar—the most important festival of this genre in Germany—he has had a lasting impact on the musical landscape. Mark Kovnatskiy is a violinist, singer, composer, lecturer, and expert on Yiddish dances. He leads a generation that has preserved and further developed the sensitive playing style of the old klezmorim for the present day. Both musicians found their way to Yiddish music from the world of classical music. This foundation enables them to preserve the Yiddish tradition with the utmost precision while harmoniously weaving it together with influences from classical music. Their music also blends influences from jazz, Moldavian, Greek, and Arabic music—the result of an intensive engagement with the music of the peoples among whom Jewish musicians have historically lived.
