Panama Festival Ensemble & Soloists of the Baltic Sea Philharmonic
with soloists of the Baltic Sea Philharmonic and Isaac Casal (cello & conductor)
Astor Piazzolla
In its "Window to the World" series, the Usedom Music Festival is now presenting fascinating sounds from Panama after last year's Senegal kick-off. Together with musicians from the Baltic Sea Philharmonic, the Panama Festival Ensemble builds a musical bridge between classical tradition and the rhythmic soul of Latin America.
Under the direction of cellist Isaac Casal, the quintet interprets the passionate works of Astor Piazzolla, among others. With a line-up of cello, violins, double bass and percussion, the ensemble fuses the highest virtuosity with the energy of the tango - a dynamic dialog that boldly expands the boundaries of chamber music.
