The Wilderness Club for children in grades 2 through 5 takes place every Thursday from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Neustrelitz Zoo.
Being outdoors, exploring nature, and being active together: The children learn through play how to read animal tracks, identify birds and plants, find their way in the forest, and work with natural materials. They build huts, carve wood, work on simple craft projects, and enjoy nature games, team challenges, and sensory activities.
The Wilderness Club fosters personal responsibility, a sense of community, mindfulness, and a respectful attitude toward nature.
The club is led by Jef Leyssens, a certified wilderness educator with many years of experience working with children.
Cost: €45 per month; the cost is eligible for reimbursement through the Education and Participation Package.
