Christina attends the Special School for Music in Berlin; she is predicted to have a bright future as a pianist in the GDR. She studies at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. But shortly after her return, she takes her own life. Bukowski tells the story of a young artist’s inner turmoil with tenderness and intensity.
