Documentary by Taryn Brumfitt
The media, advertising, and society impose a body image against which we constantly judge and condemn ourselves and others. Australian photographer and mother of three Taryn Brumfitt was no longer willing to accept this. She posted an unusual “before and after” photo of her nearly naked body on Facebook, sparking a wave of enthusiasm. Through her post, which was viewed over 100 million times on social media, she brought the issue of body image into the global spotlight. At the same time, she freed herself from the unhealthy pursuit of the “perfect” body. With her documentary, Brumfitt aims to present an alternative to everyone who suffers from these so-called beauty ideals: EMBRACE!
