The VIDA Ensemble invites you on a deep musical dive. Armed with the creative spirit of two artists, they join the audience in exploring a time that was challenging for both art and life, thereby offering an even more insightful glimpse into the present. They present musical works by Kurt Weill—particularly from *The Threepenny Opera*—in a new arrangement by composer and pianist Peter Leipold for a lineup featuring violin (Maria Meures), saxophone (Claudia Meures), cello (Marcus Sundermeyer), piano, and vocals.
Jana Kühn, singer and actress, reads from the aforementioned correspondence and, at times tenderly, at times boldly, embodies the songs and roles of Lotte Lenya. A piece of contemporary history within ancient walls, offering a hopeful glimpse into the future.
