From Saturday, November 29, 2025, it will be Christmas at the Museum of Everyday Culture of the Griesen Gegend in Hagenow.
From Saturday, November 29, 2025, the Museum of Everyday Culture of the Griesen Gegend in Hagenow will have a festive atmosphere. With the special exhibition "Hansel is my name, I bite nuts - the history of a Christmas symbol", the Museum Hagenow invites visitors of all ages to get in the mood for the festive season. Everything revolves around the nut-biting little guard in all shapes and colors. Former museum director Henry Gawlick presents his private collection: the exhibition not only shows the development of different types of nutcrackers through the centuries, but also raises awareness of their significance through the ages.
The opening ceremony begins at 3 pm and admission to the vernissage is free of charge. Afterwards, the Advent star will be raised at the church at 5 pm. The exhibition can be viewed in the museum until February 2, 2026. The regular opening hours and admission prices apply. The exhibition can also be viewed outside of opening hours on request.
