The event series "Wanderlust trips - experiencing the world up close" will take us to Namibia on Thursday, April 16, 2026. From 6 p.m., speaker Sabine Leidel will talk about her travels through one of Africa's most fascinating countries in the event cellar of Stralsund City Library.
Namibia impresses with its endless expanses, barren desert landscapes, vast steppes and unique wildlife. The lecture focuses in particular on Namibia's last desert elephants. These extraordinary animals have adapted to life in one of the driest regions on earth and exert a special fascination on travelers.
With impressive pictures and personal experiences, Sabine Leidel takes the audience on a search for the gentle giants and at the same time shows the beauty and originality of the Namibian landscape.
The lecture begins at 6 pm, the event room opens at 5:30 pm. Admission is free. As places are limited, please arrive in good time.
The event series "Wanderlust Journeys - Experience the World Up Close!" is organized by Umweltprojekte Nord e.V., a non-profit association from Stralsund. Each lecture offers new insights into exciting travel destinations and invites you to discover the world in a special way.
