An extraordinary journey through South America is the focus of an exciting travel talk by Barbara Stabenow. On May 21 at 6 p.m., the speaker will talk about her adventurous route from the southernmost tip of Chile to the Atacama Desert in the north - with Uruguay as her final destination. She traveled on foot, on horseback, by plane, bus and car.
The event at the Stralsund City Library takes the audience on an impressive journey of discovery through two fascinating countries. Barbara Stabenow talks about extreme weather phenomena in Patagonia, the impressive Andean landscapes with their unique araucaria forests and culinary experiences - such as the best empanada in Valparaíso or an egg seasoned with salt from the Salar de Atacama.
In addition to nature and enjoyment, the focus is also on personal encounters: the speaker provides insights into everyday life in Montevideo, where she visited her former guest student in his home town.
The lecture invites you to get to know Chile and Uruguay from a very personal perspective and to be inspired by the diversity and fascination of South America.
