A summer conviviality on the Gottesacker in Wismar.
From 3 p.m., you can enjoy home-baked cakes at a beautifully decorated coffee table and get into conversation with each other. On this day, you can experience the cemetery in a different way - as a place of encounter, history, culinary delights and culture.
The highlight will be a lady from the past - the Silesian poet Friederike Kempner, who achieved great things as a fighter against apparent death. In Wismar, the former mortuary bears witness to this fear, which gripped the whole of Europe in the 19th century. Friederike Kempner not only wrote dramatic poems about it, but also actively campaigned for the establishment of mortuaries in Prussia by appealing directly to the Prussian king. On this afternoon, you can listen to her stories and illustrious poetry.
