An event as part of the Queerfeminist Festival Weeks for young people and adults alike
Pure empowerment! This non-fiction book celebrates the diversity of bodies and identities.
"Vulva!" is THE non-fiction book for all those who were born with this vulva-like genitalia - and all others who want to learn more about it. It finally talks straight, without shame and with a lot of self-love: What is a vulva? Where does it come from, how does it develop? What great things can it do? And how do I take good care of it? The two sex educators Nadine Beck and Rosa Schilling explain the wonderful world and diversity of this ingenious genitalia with humor and sensitivity and provide important knowledge. The special features of the clitoris and vagina are explained, as are menstruation and the self-determined use of one's own body and sex. "Vulva!" is empowerment, education and prevention in one and, together with the cheeky, funny illustrations, proves that knowledge for below the belt is anything but embarrassing!
Nadine Beck, born in 1976 in the beautiful Hessian town of Marburg an der Lahn, is a certified sex educator and cultural scientist. Exhibitions about sexuality and vibrators are her passion - she has even written an entire doctoral thesis on the subject. The optimist likes to question the invisible rules in our heads, loves to break unnecessary taboos and is not afraid to talk about things that other people don't talk about. A sex expert, educator, artist and advocate for the removal of taboos and stigmatization of sexuality, lust, bodies and masturbation, the Hamburg native is in demand. Her trademarks are clear, unashamed language, authenticity, unbridled joie de vivre and humor.
Rosa Schilling was born in Oldenburg in 1984 and lives in Bremen and Hamburg with her dog. She came to sexual education through queer*feminist activism and a degree in cultural studies. She has been running the Fuck Yeah Sexshop in Hamburg with her collective since 2018. As a certified sex educator, she gives workshops, trains prospective sex educators and offers sexual counseling.
