Anyone who regularly attends Wladimir Kaminer’s readings always experiences the uniqueness of brand-new and completely unknown stories: He reads from his current book, but his carry-on luggage mainly contains the very latest, fresh-off-the-press “reading material.”



On some days, stories on stage are only a few hours old. Wladimir makes it a point to entertain his guests with unpublished works—this, too, sets him apart from many writers currently touring Germany. His way of entertaining the audience has something to do with travel. Kaminer draws his guests in with detailed descriptions of situations, plenty of charm, and intelligent humor, whisking them away for a special evening—he takes everyone present on a journey. The outcome is always uncertain, never predictable, but always unique.



Wladimir Kaminer is definitely one of the most exceptional entertainers of our time.
