"Viking gold" - traveling exhibition
Viking gold - treasure politics since 1800
The touring exhibition focuses on the spectacular gold treasures from Hiddensee and Hoen in Norway and examines their changing political and cultural significance: who claims this heritage and how was and is it presented?
Replicas of the gold treasures from Hiddensee and Peenemünde are also on display.
The original gold rings from Peenemünde were discovered at the beginning of the 20th century in what was then the Wolgast municipal forest.
