This is a fine little play about love and what else can happen to you in life.
can happen in life. Olaf, the baker, loves Hanna, the seamstress, and she loves him. But they can't
together because he works nights and she works all day. So they only have
only a brief, longing meeting whenever day turns to night and the moon enters the sky.
the moon enters the sky. They never really have much time for each other. Can they live
live together like this or is there something missing? Couldn't they start a completely different life
travel the world, become famous and earn a lot of money? Only when the crook
comes to the village, Hanna begins to ask herself these questions. Eventually she follows him to the
stages of the world, becomes famous and leads a life between traveling and performing, while Olaf
sits at home suffering from lovesickness and can think of nothing else. Eventually
Hanna realizes that all the fame and fortune does not warm her heart and she returns.
