Schwerin 2026 veterans' parade - making recognition visible
On Sunday, June 14, 2026, the State capital Schwerin will celebrate the nationwide Veterans Day with a public veterans parade from 10:00 to 11:15 am. The event is registered as a public gathering with a parade.
The parade is a dignified, non-partisan and inclusive act of recognition for active and former soldiers of the Bundeswehr. It combines military tradition with civilian openness and is aimed at the entire urban society. The central message: veterans are part of our society - their service deserves respect, dialog and appreciation.
The start is on the south bank of the Pfaffenteich. The route leads through the city center to the floating meadows at the state parliament. We expect 50-100 participating veterans and 2,000-5,000 spectators along the route
The orderly procession will be followed by a closing ceremony with short speeches and a minute's silence. Afterwards, an open meeting area with information stands, music and discussions until 5 p.m. invites people to engage in dialog between the Bundeswehr, politics and urban society
