Summer Exhibition at the Gallery in the Haus des Gastes
With this exhibition, the Galerie im Haus des Gastes invites visitors to an exciting encounter with an artist whose work has, for decades, been consistently dedicated to painting as an independent form of expression. The works on display in the exhibition reveal a broad spectrum of artistic expression. Thematically and formally, the works are as diverse as the artist’s sources of inspiration. Observations and experiences stand alongside the invented and the imaginary; representational works stand alongside free pictorial creations. Using the power of forms and colors, along with textures, layers of paint, and subtle nuances, he creates images that captivate the eye and invite the viewer to linger.
Siegfried Besser
Born in Görlitz in 1941 | 1962–67: Studied at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts, Diploma in Painting | Member of the Association of Visual Artists (VBK) of the GDR since 1968 and served on the executive board | 1985–90 Lecturer at the University of Education in Erfurt, Art Education | 1990–94: Teaching position at the University of Applied Sciences in Erfurt, Landscape Architecture | 1996: Moved to Marxhagen, Mecklenburg | Since 1997: Director of the Zirkesl Painting and Graphic Arts Studio in Waren (Müritz)
